Why we exist

AI assistants are useful, but their writing often gives them away — stiff phrasing, hedged openings, and the same handful of overused words. Act More Human exists to fix that. We figure out what makes AI output sound robotic, then turn it into simple, repeatable instructions anyone can use to get more natural, human-sounding results.

How we work

We keep our guides free, specific, and free of fluff — the same standard we apply to the writing we help you produce. We test what we recommend against real AI tools, and we update guidance as those tools change.

Every guide carries a byline and the date its text last changed. Where someone has sat down and walked the steps against the provider’s current settings screen, the guide says so and names what was checked. Providers move those screens without telling anyone, so a “published” date on a setup guide is close to meaningless on its own — we would rather show you the two dates separately than blur them into one that flatters us.

Has set up and re-tested custom instructions across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity and Grok, rechecking each guide as the providers change their settings screens.

Ron built Act More Human after getting tired of rewriting the same stiff sentences out of AI drafts, and of advice that stopped at “just tell it to be more casual.” The guides here are the settings he actually runs. If one of them is wrong or a provider has moved something, email him directly — corrections are the fastest way to make this better.
