Humanizing Claude: what to know

Claude is the model people switch to when ChatGPT's voice starts grating. Its default register is warmer, more conversational, and less hedged — which means humanizing prompts have less work to do here. The trade-off: Claude is more sensitive to prompt phrasing. A small change can shift the whole output.

Conversational. Explanatory, sometimes to a fault. Will ask clarifying questions. Less reflexive structure than ChatGPT — fewer bullets unless the content asks for them.

Claude responds well to negative instructions stated positively ('Be direct' beats 'Don't hedge').
If you want it to push back on your draft, say so explicitly. Claude defaults to agreement otherwise.
